I graduated from Byrn Mawr College with a Masters of Social Service degree and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over a decade of experience as a Psychotherapist. I work with individuals of all ages but have primarily worked with adolescents and adults from all walks of life. I have a great deal of experience treating anxiety, depression, stress, anger management, career/life balance and grief and loss as well as working with clients experiencing general life transitions which can feel overwhelming at times. It is my philosophy that our life experiences shape how we see ourselves in relation to others and the world. With that in mind, trauma can be the underlying cause of some of the symptoms and difficulties mentioned above. Trauma is pervasive and has had vast effects on so many. It has become a topic I have found has touched just about everyone at some point in their lives. For these reasons, I have focused on treating those impacted by trauma and adversity specifically. I work from a trauma informed lens but tailor this work to meet each individual's need because there is no one way. I look to work with clients to find the "best" way for that individual.
I am trained in and offer Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) among other modalities such as Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) to assist clients in understanding their internal world. I also include in my practice, approaches such as, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Person Centered, Motivational Interviewing, Narrative Therapy and rely heavily on Attachment Theory.
I believe that change and healing is possible for everyone. I enjoy working with people on their journey in realizing their fullest potential while drawing on individual strengths. I offer a collaborative process with my clients to empower them to heal the areas of their life in which they struggle and wish to see change.
You are reading this because you have made the first step in your healing journey. I encourage you to make the second and schedule a consultation with me, so that I can support you in the remaining steps in the realization of your goals.
